I HAVE also derived great assistance from Cambhampáti Mínácsháya, a most intelligent Bráhman, who has been for several years employed as Head Moonshee in my office of Telugu and Carpátaca Translator to the Gorernment; from Cedámbi Rangáchári, the late Head Carnataca Master at the College of Fort St. George, who died before the work was completed; and from his successor, the present Head Master, Mudumbi Shrínirásáchári. From my own countrymen, as the Carnataca language has hitherto been but very little studied, I have not been able to derive any aid.
