iv - - - - ಬರೆದನೆಂದು ಹೇಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಆಧಾರವೇನಿದೆಯೋ ತಿಳಿಯದು, ಆದರೆ ಮದರಾಸಿನ ಓರಿಯಂಟಲ್ ಲೈಬ್ರರಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಕೆಳದಿನ್ನ ಪವಿಜಯ ಚಂಪೂಗುಂಥದ ಒಂದು ಕಡತದ ಪ್ರತಿಯ ಕೊನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ - ರೋ ತಿಳಿಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ - ಕೆಳದಿ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾನದ ಚರಿತ್ರೆ' ಎಂಬ ಸಂಕ್ಷೇಪವಾದ ಗದ್ಯ ನುವಾದವು ೧೯೧v.೧೯೧೯ನೆಯ ಮಗಳ ಮಲೆನಾಡು ಸಮಾಚಾರ ದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಕ ಟತವಾಗಿದೆ, ಇದು ( ಹಿಂದೆ ಆಸಾನಕವಿಗಳಾದ ಮು| ಕನಿಕೃಷ್ಣಪ್ಪನವರಿಂದ ಬರೆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟದ್ದು ?” ಎಂದು ಆ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಯ ಸಂಪಾದಕರು ತಿಳಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ, ( ಕೆಳದಿ ರಾಯ ಪದ್ಧತಿ (?)ಎಂಬ ಒಂದು ಪದ್ಯಗ್ರಂಥವೂ ಇದ್ದ ಹಾಗೆ ಬುಕನನ ಸಾಹೇಬರ ಹೇಳಿಕೆಯಿಂದ ತಿಳಿಯುತ್ತದೆ :-. “I here found a Brahman named Bayluru Deweuppa, ( ಬೇಲೂರು ದೇವಪ್ಪ ? ) whose ancestors have been the hereditary writers of the chronicles of the Kilidi (ಕೆಳದಿ) family. He engaged to give me the family book, called Kilidi Raya Paditti ( ಕಳೆದಿವಾಯಪದ್ಧತಿ?), It is in the old dialect and character of Karnita and contains 400 sloka:s or distichs ; for, like all other works of any note among the Hindus it is poetical. IIe afterwards forwarded a copy of the work to Puirriea (ಪೂರ್ಣಯ್ಯ) who was so good as to add a translation into the modern language and character and both of them have been delivered to the Bengal Government. The family of the historiographer enjoyed an Enan, or freeland, to the amount of sixty pagodas a year“-A Journey from Madras through the Countries of Mysore Canara and Malabur• by Francis Buchanan Vol II, P. 378, ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಳಿರುವ ಬೇಲೂರು ದೇವಪ್ಪನಾ ಲಿಂಗಣ್ಣನೂ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಗಳ ಅಲ್ಲವೋ ತಿಳಿಯದು, 1 ತಾಳೀಕೋಟೆ ಯುದ್ದ ವಾದಮೇಲೆ ರಾಮರಾಯನ ಮನೆವಾರ್ತೆ ಬೊಕ್ಕಸದ ಸೇನಬೋವ ಚಿನ್ನ ಭಂಡಾರದ ನಾರಣಪ್ಪಯ್ಯನೆಂಬಾತನು ಇಕ್ಕೇರಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಸಂಕಣ್ಣನಾಯಕನನ್ನು ಸೇರಿ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಅಧಿಕಾರವನ್ನು ಕಡೆದಂತೆ ಗೊತ್ತಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಚಿನ್ನ ಭಂಡಾರದ ಮನೆತನದವರು ಈಗಲೂ ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗಾ ಡಿಸ್ನಿ ಕ್ಷಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವ ರಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
