IO (1173-1220) conferred the title Kavi-chakravarti on the poet Janna. His minister Bachi-raja is described in an inscription1 as the equal of Poona in poetical skill. At the instance of two other ministers of his, namely, Chandramauli and Vasudhaikalbandhava-Recharasa, Rudrabhatta and Achanna wrote respectively the Jagannathavijaya and the Vardhamanapurana. Under the patronage of Padmanabha, another subordinate of his, Nemichandra composed the Ai dhanemi. Polalva-dandanatha, the minister of Narasıniha II (1220-1235) was the author of the poeni Ilaricharitra. Mallikarjund, the father of Kesiraja, wrote the Suktisudharnuva for the recreation of Somesvara (1233 1254) THE EASTERN CHALUKYAS --As stated before, Ginagankıyam, d work on prosody, Caine into existence during the reign of Gunaganka-Vijayaditya (844-888) Narayandbhatta, who helped Nannayya-bhatta, the court poet of Rajaraja (1022-1063), in the composition of the Telugu Bharata, was also a kannada poet.
