When a noun of quality of pure Carnáțaca origin is joined to another noun of the same class, in order to form a compound word, it is deprived of it's affix ; and then acts as an adjective. EXAMPLES. సంగారుడుగసు a little boy, దప్పదలగియు a thick plank, డాంగుళాం wa crooked branch. EXCEPTION. When nouns of quality terminating in w or w are compounded with other nouns, the antecedent suffers certain changes, as follows: Io the modern dialect.
